- Both GORE-TEX and silicon have been officially approved as safe for implants within the human body and the stability for long-term use has also been certified.
GORE-TEX is filled with fine spaces, therefore, the surrounding tissues grow into and attach to these spaces. Also, it is relatively softer and more pliable. Characteristically, rhinoplasty using GORE-TEX may result in the formation of a curve or slight lowering of the bridge of nose in 1 ~ 2 years.
Silicon is more firm than GORE-TEX and it is also more smooth and rigid. Silicon implants are fixed and the surrounding tissues need to wrap around. Therefore, it is recommended to select between the two materials according to the degree of curve or form of the base of the bridge of the nose, desired height of the nose, etc.
- For pain-free anesthesia, a hemostatic agent or local anesthetic is injected after inducing sleep. Through this process, the patient will experience no pain during the surgical procedure. The period of inducing sleep is adjusted according to the recovery time required after surgery and the individual’s overall health. If the surgery is conducted under a conscious sedation, the patient must return home after sufficiently recovering from the anesthesia.
- Severe scar or chapping after a Mongolian fold operation may be difficult to fix as it is difficult to make improvements on scars formed by excessive skin excisions through surgical operations.
- Loss of eyesight may result due to complications associated with retrobulbar bleeding. However, in most cases, patients will recover from it through treatments in the hospital.
- As long as you do not wash your face on the day of the operation then getting an operation in the summer does not affect the result of the surgery and/or recovery. With the advanced medical techniques used these days, patients can wait until the day following the operation to wash his/her face. In other words, it is perfectly fine to have operations performed in the summer.
- It is advised not to press down on the injection area for 3 ~ 4 hours after the Botox injection. Also, patients are advised not to lie down for 3 ~ 4 hours. You many continue about your everyday life, and you can even wash your face or wear makeup 4 hours after the injection.
- This is because different treatments are used to solve different problems. For example, wrinkles on the forehead between the eyes are caused by the movement of muscles that are used to make facial expressions a Botox injection is used to relax the muscles.
- Collagen is made by mixing an extracted animal collagen base with particles called PMMA. This is used to fill wrinkles or plump up lips. Collagen is used for the similar purposes as restylane, and each has advantages and disadvantages. For example, collagen, as an animal protein, may result in skin troubles, whereas the effect lasts longer than restylane.
