| introduction |
Mt. Biseul Natural Recreation Forest is at the lower edge of Mt. Biseul (1,084m), which is located to the south of Daegu. Together with the odd-shaped rocks and stones of Mt. Biseul, which have been designated as Natural Monument No. 435, the ancient temples of Yugasa and Sojaesa are located here. Also, numerous Buddhist cultural remains, such as Yongbongdong Stone Statue of Standing Buddha and Daegyeonsa Temple Three-storied Stone Pagoda, etc. are scattered throughout Mt. Biseul. Surrounded by rich forest, this resting place shows the harmony between nature and modernity as it offers a variety of convenience facilities, such as log houses, condominiums, youth training center and camping site, etc.
In particular, the vast plane of 1,000,000m² (300,000 pyeong) at 1000m above the sea level becomes overflowing with rhododendron from late April. The countless wild flowers bloom along the ridge from Daegyeonbong to Johwabong. Also, azaleas create a spectacle in early May. Mt. Biseul Natural Recreation Forest turns into a camping site in summer, for enjoying the autumnal leaves in fall and for mountain climbing over gigantic icy hills in winter. This is a great tourist spot visited by tourist all over Korea throughout the year.
Gomtang of Hyeonpung, chicken and duck dishes of Yuga and well-being food items are particularly famous. Also, there are many sites of enjoyment and rest for tourists, such as steam sauna and Yaksan Hot Springs, etc. Where the nature is alive and breathing, Mt. Biseul Natural Recreation Forest is the place to enjoy pleasant and comfortable relaxation. |
